So here is the continuation of my previous post. The use of excel in testing.
To generate alphabet-number-special character combinations
There are lot of opportunities in excel to create a combination of number, alphabet, special character or whatever you like in a number of ways. Please see the below image, a table which I have made in excel.
To generate alphabet-number-special character combinations
There are lot of opportunities in excel to create a combination of number, alphabet, special character or whatever you like in a number of ways. Please see the below image, a table which I have made in excel.
Columns A B & C contains values which i added manually .Column D & E contains random numbers & characters respectively.
The random characters in Column E is a result of the formula
=CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(1,64)).
Now the below image shows the combinations of the above columns.
The random characters in Column E is a result of the formula
=CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(1,64)).
Now the below image shows the combinations of the above columns.
The formula used for these combinations is
Column G: =A1&B1&C1&D1&E1
This is a combination of all the other columns in Image 1
Column H: ="*"&B1&"*"
This is a combination of column B succeeded & preceded by the character *. You can use any character instead of this.
Column I : =G1&H1
If your program demands a string of 8 characters you can make it like this. i.e Column had five character & Column H had 3 .So join both together to get a 8 character string.
You can keep an excel sheet ready with you so that you can reuse it any number of time for any application. There are a lot of tools doing to do the same purpose. But I feel this much more comfortable because this doesn’t need any downloading, nor I need to spend time to sit & study a new tool. Moreover some organizations does not allow employees to download any tools from the internet. In such circumstances there is no other choice than using an excel..
